My Approach

Gentle Sleep Coaching

Gentle Sleep Coaching

I use a gentle and holistic approach. My methods are designed for parents who want their children to sleep well but do not want them to be distressed by the process. I can not guarantee no crying at all, no one really can. My goal is to have as little crying as possible. I encourage parents to be loving and responsive but to allow the child the room to learn this vital life skill of putting themselves to sleep. My methods support the development of a secure attachment between parent and child.

As your baby’s Gentle Sleep Coach I will assess their needs and help you with any questions or concerns. You will then be able to implement a comprehensive sleep plan tailored specifically for your baby. This plan will included all of the tools and techniques you will need to help improve your child’s sleep routine which will benefit the whole family.

Parents need support too

I will help prepare you so that you know what to expect from your child at different ages and how to enable them to become confident, independent sleepers. I will also help you to feel confident, supported and most importantly well rested and ready to be the parent that you want to be.

No judgement, no pressure

I believe that there is no right or wrong method; it is all about what works best for you and your family. Every child and family is different and we all have different beliefs and traditions. I believe that there is no “one size fits all”. I do much more than simply fit a family and child into a formula. By educating parents on what is age-appropriate and realistic, together we create a plan based on a gentle approach.

FAQ

Do I need to stop breastfeeding to get my child to sleep better?

Breastfeeding is best and it is never necessary to end breastfeeding in order to successfully sleep coach your child

Can I sleep coach my child even though he sleeps in my room?

You can continue to room share while sleep coaching.

Can you sleep coach a 4 month old?

I work with parents of children ages 6 months to 6 years old. Babies under 6 months I will consult with parents on how to set up healthy sleep habits from the start and if appropriate how to gently shape their sleep.

Will I have to leave my child to cry?

I cannot promise no crying at all, nobody can, however I do aim to try my best to minimise any potential crying.

My methods  encourage and nurture the bond and attachment children have with their parents.
